From Vogue Sweden, the celebration of Jon Olsson and Annette Haga was a different kind of fairytale: a grand experience. Annette had literally Googled “fairytale wedding” and found Château Challain. They realized the 19th-century venue was the only place to host their vision.

The ceremony itself was a dazzling spectacle held directly in front of the castle. Jon’s arrival on horseback, combined with Annette’s emergence from custom-built doors, created a majestic moment of pure drama. Our extensive, private grounds provided the space for unique elements like:
- A massive, 2.45-meter-tall wedding cake that required the couple to stand on chairs to cut.
- The lavish rehearsal dinner and a reception featuring an elevated menu and florals by American florist David Kimmel.
- A full cinematic fantasy reception under the stars, powered by a live band and capped off with dazzling fireworks.
Their château’s ability to comfortably host the entire wedding party for multiple days was key to the grand celebration. This allowed for seamless collaboration between our dedicated on-site team and the couple’s esteemed partners, including GLENNE Luxury Weddings & Events and David Kimmel‘s floral design team. The unforgettable night was then perfectly capped off by a spectacular display from our in-house firework specialist and by the incredible wedding band, SHINE.
A Vision of Timeless Romance: The April Rose Pengilly & Adam Jones Vogue Wedding
The wedding of former Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly and architect Adam Paul Jones was a study in timeless elegance, perfectly aligned with the couple’s desire to host a day that would never feel dated. Indeed, the Neo-Gothic splendor of Château Challain did most of the “talking,” serving as the breathtaking backdrop the couple knew was “the one” the moment they walked through the grand entrance.

The chateau’s unique heritage was a key element in the couple’s design choice. Its architectural style is so evocative of classic romance that it was famously used as a reference point for the animators behind Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Perfect setting for their Vogue Wedding. The atmosphere of romance meant the couple could focus on personal, classic details rather than excessive décor, allowing the chateau’s majestic stone and history to shine.
April’s custom Steven Khalil lace gown—inspired by Grace Kelly and featuring limited-edition Dolce & Gabbana Cinderella shoes—therefore perfect complement to the castle setting. Adam’s innovative, 1920s-inspired suit with detachable tails from P. Johnson showcased a personal twist on a classic look. The chateau’s seamless operation allowed the day to unfold without a hitch, with the couple noting that the most unexpected part was that absolutely nothing went wrong.
